We have found at times that our homeowners are placing signs (even with adhesive tape) onto our front gates at the entrance of our community to publicize lost pets, sales, etc. Please note, in order to conserve not only the paint on our restored front entrance gates but the beauty of our entrance, we announce that NO signs on our gates are permitted.

We are having many illegally parked cars including commercial vehicles in the roadway either parked overnight or on an everyday basis. Please note this does obstruct traffic and may cause accidents. Some parking reminders consist of:
- Vehicles should be parked in driveway or garage.
- When parking close to roadway, please park parallel to the road facing the same way traffic is flowing but do not block the sidewalk.
- Please restrain from parking any vehicles on roadway.

Please note that as of January 1, 2002, it became a new law that you must use a landscape professional that is certified in tree pruning your trees. It is now a requirement by Broward County to protect trees from bad pruning practices. Please do not get fined by hiring just anyone. You may call the Broward County agriculture Extension at 370-3725.

All pets must be under restraint on owner's or custodian's property. Owners and custodians of dogs and cats will exercise diligence and reasonable care to prevent their animal(s) from leaving their premises. Please have your pets enclosed within your home, fence, pen or other enclosure where the animal cannot climb, dig, jump or otherwise escape. Such enclosure must be securely fastened any time the animal is left unattended. We must be considerate for our children's safety as they play within our community. Please be aware that if animal control is called, the animal leash ordinance will be enforced, and your dog may be impounded. Upon recovery of your pet, the owner will be fined. Please keep your pets refined to a leash when in public to avoid any unfortunate incidents such as: dog bites, dogs causing auto accidents, dogs being hit by motor vehicles, spread of rabies, dogs being impounded. Let's keep our community safe!!

Our gate arms have been destroyed repeatedly due to vehicles tailgating or commercial/service contractors hitting the arms. All damages have been caught on our surveillance cameras and reviewed by the police department. Many damages have led to claims towards replacing gate arms which carry a price of $240 per arm. Please be informed that all residents must have clickers and all guest must enter thru callbox access. Sunset Pointe needs compliance from all residents in order to have a secure entrance! All service contractors (pool, lawn, etc) must personally register at Pines Property Management (ask for Joann Lundgren) for a private access code. Reminder: Damaging gates/gate arms and leaving the scene will be considered a Hit and Run violation and will be prosecuted as such.

Now for a more delicate matter. Many of us in the neighborhood have dogs that live in our homes. Many of those dogs need to get outside and stretch their legs daily. Sometimes when our dogs get outside and start stretching their legs, other bodily functions seem to get activated, too. That activation occasionally ends up falling onto one of our neighbor’s yards, leaving a most unpleasant experience to await them the next time they stroll out into their yard. The neighborly thing for us dog owners to do is carry along a pooper-scooper and a plastic garbage bag when we go out for walks so that, in the event that mother nature comes calling for our dog, we can clean up the mess left behind so that our neighbors don’t have to clean up for us. Please make every effort to clean up behind your dog because leaving fecal matter in someone’s yard is not only rude, it is potentially dangerous to your neighbor's children and their guests.

All unapproved signs placed on common property within SilverLakes will be removed and the owner will be fined $100. This includes all realtor/open house signs in common areas or in your own yard. No hand-made and store bought signs are permitted either. Only signs permitted are approved by the SilverLakes Board announcing events in our community such as the past Garage Sale, Charity Events, Resident Picnic, etc.
